WEA is hosting the Teaching Equity Conference on April 22, a day set aside to creating culturally responsive classrooms where all thrive. This conference is open to all current and future educators interested in exploring and learning about the profession with an equity lens.
Keynote speaker is Daudie Abe, a Seattle-based professor, writer and historian.
Participants will be able to select and attend a workshop during the conference. Workshop offerings are Culturally Responsive Strategies: Classroom Communities -- Certificated; Culturally Responsive Strategies: Classroom Communities -- Classified/ESP; and Culturally Responsive Classroom Management Module 1: Classified and Certificated.
Conference registration fee is $40 online for WEA members ($50 at the door) and $100 for non-members. Six clock hours are available. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Our Sammamish Council will be supporting members who would like to attend by covering their registration and mileage costs. Please contact sveaunion@gmail.com for more information.
